Chemigram
The Chemigram process was invented in 1956 by Pierre Cordier. In this process, resist is used to hold back darkroom chemistry, such as developer and fixer on black and white paper. The parts that are protected by the resist will change as it moves through the chemistry and as the resist washes off the print.
My chemigrams are an experiment with resistance and control. I use hot glue, honey, agave nectar, elmers glue, and spray olive oil to create textures. I focused on creating the moon phases, ocean, and sky. My goal was to create a series of images that worked as one large piece or singular to represent a movement as whole, or a singular moment, as well as the individuality of chemigrams nature.
